July 1, 2013, Monday – LivingSocial with their awesome partner Arts in the City (Yeba! founders) rejoice for the launch of Yeba! dance workout.
LivingSocial members flocked the grounds of Arts in the City BGC Taguig in their colourful singlets last Saturday, June 22 to dance to the tune of original ethnic music.
Yeba! is a fun workout based on Philippine folk dance steps that have been handed down through generations set to original Pilipino music. The participants sweated it out through the 60-minute dance revolution. It was mixed with a hint of hiphop, samba and salsa.
Yeba founders and instructors Danny Vinculado and Sherwin Toralde led the four classes. They made Yeba a success! People loved it. The instructors were very lively and were smiling the whole day despite the heat, an indicator that it was not work for them but a passion. They were treated like celebrities as Yeba participants rush to them after every class to have their photos taken with these Yeba innovators. And another person who conceptualized Yeba, Sandy Hontiveros was there to explain to members what Yeba is all about and the names of the folk dances. It was indeed a successful event.
Nicco Lopez Tan, Marketing Director of LivingSocial PH was glad to see such a great turn out, “I’m happy to see people from all walks of life attend this historical launch. It’s not only a fitness program but it’s similar to going back to school and learning once more about the beauty of Filipino culture especially in the dance and arts aspect of it. It’s like taking a refresher course in folk dance and ethnic music.”
